Good afternoon, East Jackson High School Parents,
Today, the Governor’s Office granted a waiver for local school systems to forgive days missed due to recent inclement weather. Consequently, East Jackson High School will continue with regularly scheduled school days as reflected on the calendar approved by the BOE on Monday, February 10th. As previously communicated, students will attend school on March 14th and May 22nd. However, Jackson County Schools will not add May 23rd. EJCHS will continue with an 8:00 start time and 2:50 release time each day. No adjustments will be made to the length of the school day. Because of the instructional time that we have lost due to the recent snows, it is more important than ever that students and families practice good attendance habits so that all of our students will be able to successfully meet the challenges of our state assessments such as End of Course tests and AP Exams. Thank you for your patience as we have navigated the challenges that this winter’s weather has provided us.
