Our Orientation mornings will replace our traditional evening Open House. By working with students in small groups, we are striving to better meet the needs of each group. During Orientation, students can pick up their schedules, select lockers, pay lunch accounts, etc. Teachers will not on campus, but students will have the opportunity to tour the building to find the locations of their classes.
9th and 10th Grade Orientations: Wednesday, July 30, 8:30-11:00 in the EJCHS Cafeteria
11th and 12th Grade Orientations: Friday, August 1, 8:30-11:00 in the EJCHS Cafeteria
August 28, 6:00-7:30 PM—Teachers will be available to conference with parents regarding their child's progress.
Over the summer, the EJCHS English Department recommends that all students read at least one text from the reading list link provided below. Because students have the option to choose which text they want to read, we strongly encourage parents to assist their children in making the best selection; when choosing a book, please consider the content of the book as well as appropriateness of text for the student's age and reading level. NOTE: Some of these works contain mature themes, and some use occasionally graphic language and scenes; however, these selection offer rewarding challenges in terms of both content and form. Honors and AP students should have already received separate summer reading lists. If you did not get your Honors/AP list, please check the school website.
