 Our purpose is to provide educational opportunities for students that have made less than desirable choices and assist them with getting back on the right track. These students will eventually go back to their home school. We work to ensure their education doesn't stop and work on social skills to help them transition back into their home school. We understand the need for all people to have a quality life with hopeful prospects to better themselves is our underlying mission.
Gordon Street Center is a multi-purpose educational facility. We have many district departments that share our building such as, Pre-K, Special Needs Pre-K, Secondary Special Educational Services, Social Workers, Psychologists, Technology, Lighthouse Academy and several Jackson County Comprehensive High School vocational and health/PE classes.
We are very proud of our Child Development Center at Gordon Street Center. This facility is utilized by Jackson County School System employees. Each staff member at Gordon Street truly believes in the philosophy, “whatever it takes to get the job complete.”
