The Georgia State Board of Education granted a waiver for local school systems to forgive days missed due to recent inclement weather. Jackson County Schools will continue with regularly scheduled school days as reflected on the calendar approved by the BOE on Monday, February 10th. As previously communicated, students will attend school on March 14th and May 22nd. However, Jackson County Schools will not add May 23rd as an extra student day, nor will any potential change to start and end times be implemented. We are committed to providing focused instruction to ensure student preparedness for upcoming assessments and advancement in their educational careers. Thank you for your patience as we are committed to our students, families, and their success!
As you know, we have been out for three days so far due to inclement weather. The following dates will be make-up days for the Jackson County School System:
Jan. 7, 2014 (Cold weather day) ~ Made up on Mar. 14, 2014
Jan. 29, 2014 (Snow day) ~ Made up on Feb. 17, 2014
Jan. 30, 2014 (Snow day) ~ Made up on May 22, 2014
We apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience. Please call MES if you have any questions.
Thank you, John Canupp
Every day, millions of potentially reusable electronics and recyclable printer cartridges are tossed. Maysville Elementary School has teamed up with Funding Factory to recycle these items and recieve funds for our school for doing so.
