Wellness Policy Info

Highlights

There are 3 components to Jackson County School System’s Wellness Policy

  • Nutrition Education
  • Physical Activity
  • Nutrition Standards

Nutrition Education – Nutrition education will be the main focus of the Nutrition Education Coordinator and will be evident in schools by integrating it into the core curriculum and providing information on the school nutrition website and in cafeterias for students, teachers, and parents.

Physical Activity – More opportunities and encouragement for physical activity.

Nutrition Standards – There are guidelines that the schools must follow for lunch…more information on this under the Nutrition Standards link.

More information will be provided to students, teachers, and parents about the foods being served in the cafeterias.

More focus and encouragement will be placed on healthier food options for lunch and snacks.
