WJMS Uniform Dress Code Feedback

Dear Parents:

We value your input and we are seeking feedback on our dress code policy for next school year. There has been some discussion among parents and staff about the possibility of implementing school uniforms or uniform dress code.

Please look over the brochure concerning the WJMS dress code proposal. In it you will find information concerning research behind dress codes in schools as well as sample clothing items and prices.

During our student-led conferences the week of February 6-10, we are asking that you submit feedback concerning next year’s dress code proposal. After viewing the brochure, please fill out the form below. There will be a box in the front office for you to place the form.

After analyzing the feedback and ensuring enough responses have been submitted, we will make a decision whether or not to move forward with this proposal. We may also have an information night in which parents will be given an opportunity to submit ideas and/or ask question in an open forum setting.

All information concerning our uniform dress code proposal can be obtained in the front office at WJMS, from your child’s teacher during conferences, and on our website. We look forward to hearing from you.

Around the World Book Fair

Around the World Book Fair Time to see the world in the next Book Fair, February 6-10. Our theme is “Around the World.” The late night will be February 9 until 7 PM, and you can come to the book fair every day that week from 8 AM to 3 PM, even on early release days.

We would love to share your trips around the world as well. If you have any pictures or souvenirs from another country that you would be willing to share, please write your name and the country on the item and turn it into the media center.

Safe & Drug Free Schools Online Survey

Safe & Drug Free Schools Survey - PDF Version for Viewing

Jackson County Schools will be surveying 6^th,- 12^th grade students this year to determine the need to address the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, bullying and other destructive behaviors by youth in Jackson County. This needs assessment is part of Georgia’s Safe and Drug Free Schools program.

A copy of the survey is available at the school’s front office, media center, school’s website and is posted on the Jackson County Schools website under Safe and Drug Free Schools Resources. You are welcome and encouraged to view the survey prior to your child’s participation. Surveys are anonymous. The survey will be given during the month of December and January and will be administered online.
